Offham family home renovation
A garage and loft conversion to create a hard working family home
This house has recently become the home of a young family. Whilst a beautiful period house, it wasn’t meeting the needs of modern living. The attic bedroom was accessed via one of the bedrooms on the first floor, and there was no easy access into the house with a pushchair or a muddy dog.
There was a ground floor garage which was undersides for a modern car, so it was converted to provide a utility and down stairs toilet along side a store (or snug in future).
On the first floor, the small bedroom was sacrificed to make a box room and provide space for a new staircase to access the attic. The existing roof required replacing, so insulation was added to improve the thermal performance of the house. A new dormer provided a new en-suite to the newly formed master suite.
Again, all of these improvements were completed under permitted development rights.
